BALKANIA is an association for Balkan Alternative Tourism and its activities include realization of projects in the field of alternative tourism which enable the promotion of Macedonia and the entire Balkan region as an attractive tourist destination with exceptional natural, historical, cultural and anthropological heritage. In addition to that, it focuses on projects and activities that help foster human capacity development in the field of tourism.

ACTIVITY 1. SPORTS AGAINST VIOLENCE AT SCHOOLS

This activity aims to investigate innovative approaches for joint activities involving sport as a method for decreasing the school violence, tackle aggression among youth and increase the effective collaboration among stakeholders for fighting the school aggression and any form of intolerance and discrimination.

The main target groups in this activity are:

 public authorities, and institutions at local, national level from all the 8 participating countries

 social care and education system representatives – social managers, social care workers, teachers, psychologists, volunteers /state, public or private ones/

 NGOs /active in sports, social, environmental and economic issues solution, involving sports, youths and adults/, operating at local, national, regional and transnational level

 representatives of the business sectors /undertakings managers, HR staff, managers, from all sectors, and in particular – sports, tourism, social enterprises and SMEs, big companies with active social corporate responsibility system /

 Representatives of NGOs/or undertakings at sector levels and professional associations/or representing NGOs or institutions active for healthy ageing, active social inclusion of youth at risk, deprived from social care, discrimination of any kind prevention and etc

 medias, formal and informal national, regional and transnational networks – active for youth development, sports, social inclusion for youth and adults, and etc.

 youth and adults, motivated to become sport volunteers, or promoters for sports at regional and local level from the 8 respective countries

 

INTERACTIVE TRAINING – SPORT AGAINST AGGRESSION

ACTIVITY 2. SPORT FOR US ALL

Main target groups, from all the 8 participating countries:

 representatives of the social care system – teachers, social managers and social care workers at social care institutions – in particular for youth deprived of parental care

 youth deprived of parental care – from the age of 3 to 29 from the social institutions in Bulgaria /225/

 NGOs actively working with youth /youth at risk also/, or sport and social inclusion of youth, training, education, sport, and etc.

 representatives of the mass kindergardens and school system – teachers, managers at mass and sport schools, kindergardens, universities

 youth 16-29 and parents from the mass schools and kindergartens/to be included as multipliers and trained for sport leaders for social inclusion /

 coaches, sport volunteers

 representatives of the public authorities /at regional, local or national level/

 

ACTIVITY 3.  EQUALITY IN SPORTS/ with focus on SPORT FOR YOUTH with  

                      disabilities, social, cultural, and etc. disadvantages/

During the years, the federation acquired vast experience and developed a partnership network in Bulgaria for organizing sport activities for youth at risk and with disadvantages.

Thus we have helped more than 80 municipalities, and NGOs active in the field of youth, disability issues and sports to adapt schedules for youth at risk and with disabilities.

Main target groups, from all the 8 participating countries:

 organizations representing the interests of tourism supply chain

 Enterprises and SMEs offering tourism-related activities: Travel agencies; Tourist guides; Tourism operators;Tourism establishments /hotels, restaurants, holiday

villages and etc./, Conference organisers; Amusement parks. – experts /animation, financial, marketing, sports, balneo/ and management staff

 sport clubs – from the urban and rural areas for physical activities – private or NGOs

 coaches, sport volunteers

 representatives of the public authorities /at regional, local or national level/

 representatives of the social care system – teachers, social managers and social careworkers at social care institutions – in particular for youth deprived of arental care

 youth deprived of parental care – from the age of 3 to 29 from the social institutions inBulgaria

 NGOs actively working with youth /youth at risk also/, or sport and social inclusion of youth, training, education, sport, and etc.

 representatives of the mass kindergardens and school system – teachers, managers atmass and sport schools, kindergardens, universities

ACTIVITY 4.

SPORT VOLUNTEERING – BE ACTIVE, BE HAPPY

This activity will focus on participation of youth and adults interested in sport volunteering.

Target groups: any individual interested in sport volunteering/ public authorities – so as to inform their citizens on the opportunities, any professional, or representatives of the voluntary sectors, NGOs, the education system, the social care system, the business sector and individuals and etc. no matter of his/her professional background and capacity motivated and able to act as project multiplier in his community or professional field. The partcicpation of organizations, active in voluntary activities /with mature projects looking for partners in sports, or with relevant expertise in sport volunteering will be encouraged/.

From the establishment, the Federation has developed vast expertise and network for sportvolunteering for youth and adults. The partners will support us in research and some of thegroup activities in the next tasks. They will provide also on-line support and couching for volunteering projects from all the partcicpating countries. In addition, the federation team has in its project staff people with direct expertise – international in volunteering. The partners from Romania, active and with great experience in sport volunteering will also take active portcicpation in this activity.

T1. Analyses on the local, national, the EU and international projects and initiatives for volunteer travelers /youth and adults/ and development of an on-line handbook and SPORT

VOLUNTEER subpage in the project website. The result will be systematic, on-line and free of charge – English – Bulgarian handbook for any person who is interested in sport volunteering and the ways to voluntarily organize or participate in sport events. All the partners will supply as an addendum a list of NGOs and organizations supporting volunteers in sport at their country and also from other ones.

 

ACTIVITY 5. STAKEHOLDERS FOR SPORTS

The main goal of this activity is to raise the public institutions awareness on sport and physical activities as an effective instrument for improving the social capital of the EU. Sport is probably the only one and universal instrument that can change the health for the better and improve the professional results to young and adults, rich and poor, disadvantaged and lucky.

In the current economic, social and ecological crisis partnerships – for innovation, effective and cross-sectural activities are of utmost importance. Disadvantages, youth at risk, poverty, aggression and discrimination – are issues typical for us all – and smart partnerships for sport can be valuable tool for solving them. /T1/ In addition the activity aims to contribute to the effective information campaign of the project.

 

ACTIVITY 6. PROMOTING THE ECONOMIC DIMENSIONS OF SPORT:

The target group of the seminars includes from the 8 partner countries:
